CENTRAL LIBRARY

Resources

The New Central Library offers many valuable resources to its patrons. Below are just some of the resources found at the New Central Library

Indianapolis Special Collections Room

The Nina Mason Pulliam Indianapolis Special Collections Room houses collections of archival materials. These include adult and children's materials, both fiction and nonfiction books by local authors, photographs, scrapbooks, typescripts, manuscripts, autographed editions, letters, newspapers, magazines, and realia.

Because of the specialized nature and often unique character of the material housed in the ISCR, and our responsibility for preserving these historical materials, the rules regarding the use of these materials differ from rules pertaining to the general collection. Our intent is not only to make materials available to current researchers, but also to preserve them for the historical record and for the use of future researchers. Library staff will provide details with regard to the special care required for any particular item you wish to use.

Music Collection

IMCPL strives to maintain a wide range of music books, printed music and audiovisual materials to help provide the music you need for personal enjoyment, performances, auditions, weddings, reunions and other important life events. Regardless of format, the music collection covers a wide range of musical styles including classical, Broadway, folk, popular, international, electronic, and band.
