"We Love Our Libraries" with CEO Jackie Nytes

A focus of the meeting is to gauge where individuals are on their personal digital journey. Joining the CEO will be the Library's new Manager of Digitization, Meaghan Fukunaga, who will work to develop projects and community collaborations for the preservation and storage of items of local historic interest.

Sea, Sand and Surf: Preschool Science Workshop

Preschoolers ages 3 - 6 and an adult are invited to explore the ocean with Mad Science of Indiana! They'll learn about how sand is made and make some of their own. They'll also discover animals that live in the sea, touch different shells, and "beach-comb" for shells to take home. This program is made possible by Lilly through a gift to The Indianapolis Public Library Foundation.



Art Monsters: Preschool Art Workshop

Preschoolers ages 3 - 6 and an adult are invited to explore sculpture, simple shapes, and drawing and painting with The Art Lab. They'll listen to a favorite monster story, hand-build a mixed media sculpture, and draw and paint their creation using watercolor and crayons. This program is made possible by College Savings Bank through a gift to The Indianapolis Public Library Foundation.



Superhero Drawing Class

The Big Read: Book Discussions

As part of The Big Read, during which Indianapolis residents are encouraged to read "The Beautiful Things That Heaven Bears" by Ethiopian-American author Dinaw Mengestu, adults are invited to discuss the themes of the book during this program led by expert discussion guides from the Indiana Writers Center. Free copies of the book will be available at all book discussion locations for book groups who would like to discuss this chosen novel.
