Events at the Library
Events for March 5-July 5, 2015
Age Level: Preschool (3-5)
Preschoolers ages 3 - 6 and an adult are invited to explore sculpture, simple shapes, and drawing and painting with The Art Lab. They'll listen to a favorite monster story, hand-build a mixed media sculpture, and draw and paint their creation using watercolor and crayons. This program is made possible by College Savings Bank through a gift to The Indianapolis Public Library Foundation.
Age Level: School Age (6-11), Teen (12-17)
Children ages 6 and older are invited to step into the world of drawing superheroes. They'll learn the basics and experiment with different drawing materials to create their own superhero character. This class is presented by Art With a Heart.
Age Level: Adults
The Library is joining the Indiana Secretary of State office to provide this opportunity for individuals to register to vote, update their registrations and receive information on upcoming municipal elections in the spring and fall.
Age Level: Preschool (3-5), Families
Preschoolers and families are invited to join Yurtfolk for an interactive hour of exploring music, stories and folk dance from around the globe. They'll sing in different languages and dance together as they learn about different cultures, literature and unique instruments. This program is made possible by gifts from the PNC Foundation and Friends of the Library to The Indianapolis Public Library Foundation.
Age Level: Adults
Adults can receive free legal advice through one-on-one consultations with qualified, licensed attorneys who are members of the Indianapolis Bar Association. For those unable to attend, call 269-2000 between 2 - 8 p.m. to speak with an attorney. This community service event is sponsored by the Indianapolis Bar Association and Indianapolis Bar Foundation, in cooperation with The Indianapolis Public Library and Indianapolis Public Schools.
