The Little Boy Who Shook Up the World: The Emmett Till Story
|
|
Individuals of all ages, especially young ones in grades 3 - 12, are invited for a dramatic reading by Nicole Kearney Productions of a play that reveals how young people impacted the Civil Rights Movement. The play tells the story of 14-year-old Emmett Till who, while visiting a relative in Mississippi in 1955, was kidnapped and lynched after being accused of whistling at and improperly touching a white store clerk. The subsequent trial served as a catalyst for the Civil Rights Movement and thrust the scrutiny of the nation upon Mississippi. |
