Hot Jazz for Cool Kids!

Children and families are invited to this outstanding series of free performances by Indy's leading jazz musicians. They are a great way to share jazz music with children that will be fun for everyone! These hour-long programs are presented by the Learning Curve at Central Library in partnership with The Indianapolis Jazz Foundation and Indy Jazz Fest. This series is made possible by Friends of the Library through gifts to The Indianapolis Public Library Foundation. This program, to be held in Central Library's Clowes Auditorium, will feature the Dixieland jazz of The Naptown Strutters, led by trombonist Dan Hughley. Experience spirited New Orleans jazz in the tradition of Louis Armstrong and other early jazz greats. The group also features Larry McWilliams on trumpet, Bill James on clarinet, Jon Block on bass, Larry Mechem on piano, and Gene Markiewicz on drums.
