Patrons are invited for an exhibit of contemporary art featuring 22 local, regional, national and international artists. Sponsored by IMCPL, PRIZM The Artist's Supply Store, The Great Frame Up, The Indiana Herald, and URBANE D'ART Inc. A closing artists' reception will be held on Friday, October 9 from 6:30 - 9 p.m.
View a traveling exhibition that tells the fascinating story behind the most ordinary, and most useful, of everyday objects: a sheet of paper. The exhibit of art and artifacts offers a global perspective of papermaking from its invention in China more than 2,200 years ago through the art and technology of today. This exhibit is curated by the Robert C. Williams Paper Museum in Atlanta, Georgia and is made possible through a grant from The Louise Lage Kirtland and Hugh C. Kirtland Endowment Fund, a fund of The Indianapolis Foundation.
This exhibit will be on display in the Atrium, the South Display Hall and Tower Floors.
Adults are invited to read and rate their favorite mystery books and enter the Adult Reading Program Grand Prize drawing. Register for this "Month of Mystery" program in the West Reading Room at Central Library.
The entire community is invited to join IMCPL and the Mayor\'s Office in reading the selected title from the classic Nero Wolfe detective series by Hoosier native Rex Stout, one of the 20th century\'s best mystery writers. Numerous copies of the title are available for checkout at all IMCPL locations.

An informal discussion of the show's topic of the day will take place. It's a great opportunity to get to know fellow history lovers in a cozy atmosphere!
Tour the beautifully-transformed Central Library and learn about Library's architecture, history and offerings. Our trained escorts will describe the 1917 Cret Building, the four-story Atrium and the six-story glass and steel-framed addition. Tours originate at the Information Desk in the Atrium.
