Finding Recorded Music at the Library

ANSCR Music Classification

When searching our catalog you may notice that we use a different classification system for recordings than we do for books.

This system, known as ANSCR (Alpha - Numeric System for Classification of Recordings), arranges recordings first by style and then by performer or composer, so that specific items may be found quickly and efficiently.
