- Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report

- What is the Census?
- Every ten years a census of the U.S. population is taken, primarily to apportion Congressional representation. What began as a population count in 1790 has grown to include a wide variety of topics and questions, in order to better understand the makeup of the nation.
- What kind of information is gathered in the Census?
- The 2000 Census gathered a wealth of information, from race to income to how long it takes us to get to work each day. The gateway to all this information is the home page of the U.S. Census Bureau, where you can find data using a variety of searches, from quick facts to comprehensive information about census tracts and blocks.
- Does the Library have census data?
- The Indianapolis-Marion County Public Library's collection includes census data from 1790 to 2000, much of it available in print or on microfilm. However, the library does not collect the census information, which includes names and addresses, used by genealogy researchers. The Indiana State Library's Genealogy Division does have census records which can help in that kind of research, or you can visit the library's Genealogy page for more resources.
